CGE Update and ResFinder DB Compare Tool

In an effort to provide useful tools for antimicrobial resistance (AMR) detection in bacteria, we need to ensure that our databases are up to date. In this presentation we introduce a tool that can compare our PointFinder and ResFinder databases with other known AMR databases. This will give us an overview of the genes that differ and an easy indicator of genes of interest. These genes will still need manual curation and verification of AMR through literature before entering our databases. The first database to be compared is that of CARD, but the goal is to further develop and to compare other databases and run it frequently to be up to date with any additions to the databases.

The end of the presentation gives an overview of the usage of our online services as of May 2022. ResFinder is our most used tool with up to 20.000 monthly runs. We had above 600.000 runs total for all services in all of 2021, and the services are used in more than 130 countries.
